This photo shows the cockpit of a Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar. This plane was developed as a military transport aircraft with its first flight being made in 1947. These planes saw extensive action in the Korean and Vietnam wars as they were mainly used to carry cargo and troops for the U.S. military. The C-119 is known as the “Flying Boxcar” due to the fact that these impressive aircraft were able to hold the same weight as a railroad boxcar.
